Risca United today received official confirmation of their FAW Academy status, and thus will play in the FAW Premier Academy League.
In an official email from Andrew Howard of the FAW he wrote:
“I am pleased to confirm that your club has been accepted into the FAW Academy Programme for the 2014/15 season. There will be feedback to each individual club in due course, so please look out for this.
The Games Programme will start on Sunday 14th September, except for the club that is due to play Haverfordwest County, as they will start on 21st September due to the traffic problems associated with the Tenby Iron Man. The fixtures will be released no later than Wednesday 3rd September.
Thank you for your hard work to date and congratulations!
Kind regards,
Andrew Howard

This is fantastic news, and achieved in such a short space of time. Our youngsters will now compete with the best young players across Wales, with fixtures against sides such as Haverfordwest, Aberystwyth, Carmarthen, Afan Lido and Port Talbot.
We look forward to putting our wits against Wales’ best and putting Risca United firmly on the Welsh Football map
